About the opportunity

 

This is a senior position within our Product team, based in our St Andrews office and focused on the strategic management and growth of our flagship destination. As Senior Destination Manager, you will take clear ownership of the Scotland programme and active oversight of the rest of the UK and Ireland.

The role will focus on driving sustainable growth in Scotland and Ireland, and establishing scalable programmes in England and Wales. To succeed in the primary goal, a deep, comprehensive understanding of the unique golfing ecosystem of St Andrews is required. You will reduce operational dependency on senior leadership by deepening critical supplier relationships and maximising our exclusive destination access.

Your role will bridge the gap between creative execution and commercial success, ensuring our most important market sets the benchmark for portfolio excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Portfolio Management: Oversee the strategic management, health, and commercial performance of the UK and Ireland programmes, ensuring they serve as the operational blueprint for wider portfolio development.

  • Commercial Leadership: Commercialise high-value supplier relationships, leveraging our destination authority to improve access, value, and long-term strategic partnerships.

  • Experience Optimisation: Lead the strategic development of distinctive experiences that strengthen both the product offering and Golf Traveller’s brand positioning.

  • Cross-Office Alignment: Strengthen coordination between Product, Marketing, Sales, and Fulfilment teams across international offices to ensure consistent delivery standards.

  • Internal Education: Deliver internal education and share expert destination insights to support Sales with itinerary development and proposal quality.

  • Pricing Strategy: Contribute to pricing and margin strategies to ensure our Products remain competitive and commercially sound.

  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship within the Product team, directly managing a small team while supporting people development.

Location: St Andrews Office Based.

Hours of work: 40 hours per week.

Reports to: Interim Head of Product.

We are seeking a commercially aware, solution-focused leader with extensive experience in luxury travel operations and deep destination authority in Scotland.

Attributes and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Significant experience in the luxury travel, hospitality, or tour operations sector, ideally with a background in procurement or product management.

  • Ecosystem Expertise: A comprehensive understanding of the golf travel industry, its unique language, and the precise nuances of premium destination access in St Andrews and around Scotland.

  • Leadership Mindset: Proven ability to mentor junior team members and establish clear operational frameworks.

  • Communication: Confident and engaging communicator, comfortable collaborating across international teams and presenting internal training.

  • Analytical Skills: Commercially astute, with a strong understanding of how supplier relationships and pricing structures drive revenue and margin growth.

  • Autonomy & Polish: A self-starter with a guest-first mindset and a keen eye for detail, ensuring experiences are delivered with absolute consistency.
